Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert has proved that she is more than just the girl next door.
The Calgary native has just been named Maxim‘s most beautiful woman on TV, beating out starlets such as Blake Lively of Gossip Girl and Glee’s Lea Michele.
“To think that one person could be the most beautiful when there’s Kaley Cuoco, Sofía Vergara, Zooey Deschanel? They’re all stunning,” Cuthbert told Yahoo news blog, referring to the stars of The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and New Girl, respectively.
The modest beauty began her acting career as a co-host on the children’s television series Popular Mechanics for Kids in 1997. But, it was not long before filmmaker’s noticed her natural good looks and talents casting her as a playful vixen in films such as Love Actually, Old School and The Girl Next Door.
But Cuthbert’s niche seems to be on the small screen, as she is most recognized for her role as Kim Bauer, daughter to Jack Bauer on the hit action thriller series 24. She and her castmates have won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for the show.
She currently plays Alex Kerkovich on the ABC comedy series Happy Endings.
Cuthbert, 30, may experience her own happy ending soon as she is currently engaged to the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team, Dion Phaneuf.
Cuthbert adorns the front of Maxim‘s March issue, which will hit newsstands on Feb. 19.
